About Thornborough Pre-School
Committed to Education and Learning Through Play
Thornborough is a village and also a civil parish within Aylesbury Vale district in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located about two miles east of Buckingham.
We are a small setting located in the heart of Thornborough village and operate from the cricket pavilion within the grounds of Sir Henry Moore playing field. We accept children from 18 months - 4 years of age and offer a safe, happy and stimulating environment for all.
The importance of play
When we talk about play, people naturally think about young children, however all children and young people should have the opportunity to play every day.
Play is important for the early stages of brain development and playing with your child can help build relationships for later life. But no matter what age we are, play helps to develop important skills for learning, life and work. By using an indoor and outdoor environment we provide a nurturing environment where children learn through play.

COVID-19 is very much still around and we want to ensure you that with extra cleaning and personal care we still do. Keeping the staff and children safe is our top priority. Please contact us for more info the procedures we have in place at our Pre-School.
New Flooring!!
January 2022
We are very excited and grateful for our new flooring that was laid over the Christmas break! A massive thank you to the Parish Council and the Buckingham and Villages Community Board for sorting this with the planning and funding. My Son absolutely loved going here. With his special needs as well the staff were amazing and adapted things to help him, which made his transition to ‘big school’ very easy. With my daughter now attending here, she loves it and can’t wait to get there every weekday. She even wants to go at weekends! They all go above and beyond delivering expert care, is so aware of each child’s individual personality and cares deeply about their wellbeing and the Pre-School is super organised!!
I never worried about my child while at Thornborough Pre-School and I know whatever my child needs, physically or emotionally they were all met and superseded.
I could not recommend this setting more, it is just wonderful.

My daughter was with Thornborough pre school for around 18 months once we moved to the village. She settled in very quickly and had a great relationship with the team ( her peers ) and has made some very solid friendships with the other children. My daughter really enjoyed pre school and was always asking about when her next day was. In my opinion this small but intimate setting is a great start for any child and the children really are focused on, I felt with the other settings my daughter attended there was too many children and they was left alot to their own devices. Thornborough Pre School is a happy place to be and the children are constantly learning new skills without even realising they are being taught as Heidi and her team are constantly making tasks fun and exciting . In my opinion there is no other place I would rather send my child and I look forward for my son joining them in 2021.

Thornborough Pre-school was a lovely start to Sophie’s journey, she has made some lovely friends here and loved every moment with her little pre-school family. She has made so many lovely memories that will stay with her forever and had so much fun with all her friends along the way. The staff are all very lovely and welcoming.
